Norukkals

Everyone has that one soul who has inspired, motivated and supported us in our culinary journey.

This Thanksgiving, I extend my gratitude to that loving, caring motherly figure, eldest cousin in our family-@parimala who will be there available 24/7 for all my queries, doubts regarding any regional recipes. I dedicate this dish, Norukkals which can be made from leftovers of Salem Thattuvada(STV) set. It’s because, I posted STV set with her guidance only.

Salem Street food special, NorukkalsSouth Indian Hors d’oeuvre-perfect for a healthy evening snack, for a gathering, or kitty 🥳 🎊

This comes as a sequel to my previous post, Salem Thattu Vada(STV) Set, which can be compared to North Indian Papdi chaat. Norukkals can be related to Bhel puri.

Pro-tips-

  • If you have leftovers from STV set, you can prepare this in a flash.
  • You can unleash your creativity by adding different chutneys & different veggies with your choice of spices.
  • Increase or decrease garlic and green chutneys according to your palate’s requirements. Or you can even replace it with other Chutneys like Sweet Dates Tamarind Chutney or Chaat Green Chutney of your choice.
  • Can squeeze extra moisture from the grated veggies like cucumber and tomatoes.
  • Can season the peanuts with chilli powder, chaat masala mixed with little coconut oil
