Now time for my Kitchen Secrets…..😉😍
Sweet Dates Tamarind Chutney tastes divine, it’s my elder daughter’s favourite chutney. I need to add extra scoop for her chaat. That’s the reason I double the portion and store the excess in the freezer to please her sweet tooth.
This chutney is so versatile like Garlic chutney as it can be used in various ways. Apart from chaats, it can be used as dips for appetizers, spreads for sandwiches, accompaniments for breakfasts, list goes on…
Here, I show you how the sweet chutney can be productively used as a spread on bread while making sandwiches.

Instructions:
- To start off with, apply butter on three bread slices and toast them on one side in a tawa.

- Another loaf with Hummus, (use the hyperlink to check the recipe), third loaf with mashed potatoes, onion, tomato, capsicum rings and Mozzarella cheese.
- Drizzle some sandwich or chaat masala on top of the cheese (optional).
- Stack the loaves with stuffed side inside and toast it on the tawa or in microwave or in sandwich maker or in the air fryer.
- Your delicious club sandwich is ready to serve. Absolutely kid’s lunch box friendly menu…🍱🍱🍱
Notes:
- Spice up the mashed potato with green chilli / chilli powder, dry mango powder, black salt, cumin seeds and salt.
- I used my homemade hummus here, can substitute with any spread like labneh (strained yoghurt) or cream cheese spread or Green chutney or Garlic chutney or tomato ketchup (whichever is available at home).
- Veggies and cheese up to your choice.
- Sandwich masala or chaat masala is purely optional.
- I used multigrain bread for the healthier version. Again choice of bread is purely yours.
- I mentioned thick Sweet chutney in the ingredients list, it means chutney shouldn’t be diluted with water and has to be thick consistency. If the chutney is too thin, it’ll make the bread soggy.
