Now it’s time for my kitchen secret…😉😍.
As I promised you earlier, my Kitchen secret recipes will definitely enthrall you with their fusion and surprise packages. I’ll play with the leftovers of that recipe or I’ll bring a new shade or dimension to the original recipe.
I made an Instant, No-cooking Chocolate Halwa Roll with this leftover halwa. Intrigued…😋😋. Let me explain the process. Ground any digestive biscuits into fine powder. Mix it with cocoa powder and powdered sugar. Knead into a smooth dough by adding milk gradually. Then roll it into a disc and stuff it with leftover bottle gourd halwa. Roll this gently as a cylinder and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours. Later cut into rondelles.
As many of my friends and followers were asking for a substitute for the filling. I came up with instant fillings which are easily available in your kitchen counters. I would suggest to go with Nutella, Peanut butter or Mixed fruit jam topped with crunchy nuts or you can try with other halwas too like Beetroot halwa, Kajar halwa (Carrot Halwa) or crumbled Instant Kaju peda. For Nutella stuffed Chocolate Roll, after rolling into a disc, smear with Nutella filling, then sprinkle some mixed chopped nuts or you can add chocolate chips, I even tried with my Homemade Praline. Then roll this gently as a cylinder and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours. Later cut into rondelles. Keep in mind that Nutella filling tends to melt if kept at room temperature for a while after refrigerating. I have shared the pic of Nutella stuffed Chocolate Roll for your reference..👇

Let’s get into the recipe-
Finely ground to powder, Marie biscuits, or any digestive biscuits (slightly salted). To 1 cup of powdered Marie biscuits, add a tbsp of powdered sugar and a tsp of cocoa powder.
Mix well and then gradually add 3-4 tbsp of milk, knead it into a smooth dough.
The texture should be soft and rollable. Add tbsp by tbsp and stop if you reached desired texture.
Adhere the wax paper to the kitchen counter with tapes and smear it with butter.
Then roll this kneaded dough into a flat disc.
Trim the edges to make a rectangular shape, you can roll back the removed dough into another disc. (refer pic and video)
Stuff the bottle gourd halwa leaving the corners to ease rolling.
Gently start rolling with hands, into a cylinder.
Transfer to a plate and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hrs or you can freeze for an hr.
After the given time, take it from the refrigerator, gently cut it into rondelles with a sharp knife.
Instant, no cooking, kid’s friendly, yummy Chocolate Halwa Roll is ready to serve. Smooth and silky outer covering with crunchy and healthy filling is a delight in a bite. It can be stored in refrigerator for a week.
