In this lovely world, every person who evolves as a good cook will walk down the memory lane of their childhood portrayed with a small kitchen, boiling pot, simmering curry, a warm stove, and a mom (and in my case sometimes my dad).
I am Manimala Nagalingam aka Mala Mohan, originally from Chennai. I am the mother of two lovely teen girls who were integral in the making of this blog; they took care of the technical part of this blog as I am not tech-savvy.
Every cook in this world will name their mom as their first and best inspiration to start their culinary journey. Even I’m no exception, it is evident now that the reason I am starting this blog is because of my mom’s cooking. As a mom’s love is unconditional, her cooking was sprinkled with affection, seasoned with care, garnished with tenderness, and great warmth. My mother-in-law inspired me with her savory making skills, especially during festive seasons. My family is the best critic of my food. In short, they inspire me, and me them.
What’s so different about my blog? I raise a recipe as a child right from scratch with utter care and love. With lots of references and including my intricacies, I finally develop it into a fool-proof recipe as a self-evolved adult. My blog will reflect these qualities and ensure my followers or readers who try my recipes will eventually experience it in their end product. My blog will be a learning experience for the readers to transform them from amateurs to experts.
An exclusive package of my recipes is the KITCHEN SECRET that I’ll be sharing at the end of each recipe. It will help to transform that particular dish into various forms beyond your imagination. Now I don’t know about your family, but mine always eats irregularly. Sometimes, they are ravenously hungry, and other times they pick at their food. Not knowing how much to prepare, I tend to prepare more food, as having more at hand is always better than less. Now the only thing I hate more than an under-spiced chicken biriyani is throwing away perfectly good food. So to help those wanting cooks out there, I am going to provide shortcuts to turn yesterday’s dinner into today’s lunch.
I’m a foodie who’s also a vivid traveler. We’ve lived in Delhi, Oman, Bahrain, and are currently residing in dazzling Dubai. We are also ardent travelers; we often take trips to European and East Asian countries. This journey refined and reformed me as a whole person and gave me the liberty to explore various cuisines, to evolve as a chef. During this evolution, I came across diverse people in INDIA and the world. They influenced my culinary journey, wherein I have tested and tried their regional cuisines, ultimately turning me into a food blogger. My best quality is to reproduce or replicate a dish that I relished in a restaurant. I may not know the recipe, but by just reminiscing the taste which still lingers in my mouth, I’ll sense the ingredients incorporated into the dish and try to recreate it in my kitchen.
I am a biochemistry student, so I can attest to the fact that cooking is a science. It is an art of adjustment, an act of love, a way to enter a man’s heart, an acronym of your perpetual care. The kitchen is a boundless lab where you can experiment with your culinary skill, and your nearest and dearest ones are bound to be the guinea pigs. Cooking is like a therapy that reduces the stress, heals a broken heart, soothes the parched soul, reconciles differences, rejuvenates the entire body. Music is the best companion in my kitchen. It keeps me alive.
I have won many cooking competitions that helped to exhibit my skills and unfold my expertise and creativity to the community. I ensure my viewers that my recipes will do magic in their lives. My cooking involves all styles of techniques; instant to long-duration recipes, fusion to ethnic dishes. These fool-proof recipes can never go wrong. I vouch you will succeed in delighting the palette of your loved ones. I am sure my blog will become indispensable in due course of life.
WHEN I DISCOVERED COOKING, I DISCOVERED MYSELF AND SO CAN YOU…..
